Attendance Policy

CLOCK-IN & CLOCK-OUT

  • Employees may clock-in a maximum of five (5) minutes before scheduled clock-in time unless asked by management to clock-in early
  • Employees may clock-out a maximum of five (5) minutes after scheduled clock-out time unless asked by management to clock-out later

ABSENCES

    • Your timely attendance at SVC is crucial to making the campground run smoothly.
    • We must meet our campers’ needs.  This can only be achieved by being well staffed
    • You are expected to do your part in achieving this goal by maintaining a good attendance record
    • While on sick leave employees, with or without a doctor’s excuse, may not enjoy campground amenities

TARDINESS

  • Employees are expected to be at their work station as scheduled
  • Tardiness is defined as clocking in more than ten minutes later than your scheduled time
  • Being on time makes it easier on all of your fellow employees
  • Being tardy and/or leaving the job early without permission will result in disciplinary action
  • Employees will receive a verbal warning after each of the first three (3) instances of tardiness.
  • Employees will receive written notice upon the fourth (4th) instance, termination notice upon the fifth (5th) instance
  • Please contact management when expecting to be late

EMERGENCY ABSENCES

  • If Employee is sick or has an emergency situation, they are required to inform management as soon as possible, but at least an hour prior to their scheduled shift
  • This will be handled on a case by case situation

IMMEDIATE TERMINATION

  • Falsifying Company Records
  • Stealing
  • Alcohol/Drug Abuse
  • Insubordination
  • Disrespecting Management
  • Disorderly/Unethical/Unprofessional Conduct
  • Vulgar Language
  • No Show/No Call For Assigned Shift
  • Refusing to work when needed
  • Clock in/out Abuse
  • Leaving Shift Without Permission
  • Causing Conflict /Chaos Amongst Fellow Employees
  • Racial Or Sexual Slurs, Jokes, or Insults
  • Safety Violation
  • Abuse of Company Property
  • Using Company Property for Personal Use
  •  Per the Application Wavier signed by you stating, ‘Both the undersigned and Shenandoah Valley Campground may end the employment relationship at any time, without specified notice or reason’

EXCESSIVE ABSENCES

Excessive absenteeism is defined as three (3) or more spells of absenteeism in any ninety (90) day period.

    1. First offense – Verbal warning
    2. Second offense – Written Warning
    3. Third offense – Termination.

  • Excused: Absences are discussed and excused in advance of the absence, by management, for such events as medical appointments, jury duty, funerals, and other happenings which cannot be scheduled outside of regular work hours
  • Unexcused: Absences are not discussed and excused in advance, by management, for such events as illness, family emergencies, transportation emergencies, family member illness and/or death, and household emergencies such as flooding
  • No-fault: Absences are considered “no-fault.” when a verified emergency arises
